Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers: An Overview

The green-H2 production through water electrolysis from renewable energies is vital in the context of developing a sustainable and cost-effective methodology. Anion exchange membrane electrolyzer (AEMWE) considered as promising energy conversion device, which can be an alternative to fossil fuel-based energyplatforms. AEMWE employ inexpensive nonprecious metal catalysts current collectors, preferable forpractical applications this technology. Membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for plays significant role forthe hydrogen efficiency. Thus, understanding MEA components, operation, performance critical development prominent materials AEMWE. In review, we highlight performances MEAs andtheir such AEMs with broad discussion progress status. Additionally,we also have put forward our assessment lead way future research, commercialize provenalternative high-purity hydrogen.
